…Brought to you by Jd-! That’s right, I’m back! …But only momentarily. Hey, I know at least one person got excited for a second!
This special was one that had been in the works for quite some time, and when GinRei asked for the materials to finalize it for release some time ago, it soon became clear that my carelessness had led to the entire script being lost, leaving us with nothing but the bare translation and some of the typesets. With the timing and such missing, there was no choice but to start over from the beginning. I didn’t feel right about pushing my mistake of losing the script on the others, so I decided to help out one last time.
The issue was that, unlike my olden days, I no longer had the energy or motivation to time and edit the entire special myself. Instead, I rounded up the usual suspects and set up a joint with Zdm that would have AZFS time it while I edited and finished everything else that had been lost from before. Thanks to them, the rest of this Big Release Day was possible and the DCTP staff members didn’t have to take time away from other projects to make good on the script I lost.
Due to my inherent interest in law, this was one of the few projects that could get me back in the saddle one more time, and in the end, I have to admit I was exhausted. This episode is an enjoyable one, and you don’t have to see the other Courtroom Confrontation episodes to understand it (in fact, they’re virtually entirely disconnected from one another). As for whether there will be an HD release, the answer as of now is “no.” That doesn’t mean it isn’t possible, but–while this did air in HD–this aired before we were doing our own recordings. The current raws out there aren’t of a high enough quality to warrant an HD release, to put it simply. Comments on the releases go here on the forums.
And here ends the obligatory long-winded Jd- post for 2010. I hope everyone enjoys this release and all of the others — the entire DCTP staff worked very hard to bring these to you in a very short span of time! Have fun, kids, and remember: Crime doesn’t pay, unless you’re good at what you do.
P.S. ConanTV is still inbound! We’ve made great strides in the past week! We may or may not have a projected release date in mind! Zomg!
P.P.S. I have also heard from some very high-up sources that DCTP will be working on the 14th movie, The Lost Ship in the Sky, for a Fall 2010 release!
